Description
Andrew James Hoy, OAM is an Olympic-level equestrian rider, who competes for Australia. The London 2012 Summer Olympics were his seventh games. He has won four Olympic medals, three gold and one silver.
He lived in the UK with his wife Bettina Hoy, who competes at the Olympic level for Germany, for 12 years in Gloucestershire, at the Gatcombe Park estate of The Princess Royal. In January 2009 they moved to Warendorf, Germany. The Hoys are the only married couple competing in the same Olympic discipline for different teams in the same year.
Hoy was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2000.
