Description
Richard "Dick" Lane nicknamed "Night Train", was an American football player, best known as a defensive back for the Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Cardinals and Detroit Lions. During his rookie season in 1952, Lane established the record for most interceptions in an NFL season, a record that has stood for over 60 years, despite the fact that the regular season is 33% longer today than it was in 1952, and that NFL teams pass considerably more than ever before in history. He went undrafted in 1952, and was later inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.
