Carol Arthur is an American producer and film/television actress, mainly recognizable as playing supporting roles in films produced by Mel Brooks. She is probably best remembered as the outspoken town school teacher Harriett Johnson, in Brooks' Blazing Saddles. She has also guest-starred in many television shows throughout the last four decades, including The Dom DeLuise Show, Emergency!, Sanford and Son, Rhoda, Alice, Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories, St. Elsewhere, and 7th Heaven. She appeared in 1976 as the clever-witted girl-guides scoutmaster in the Sanford & Son episode when Fred and Lamont were lost in the woods while camping. Arthur was born Carol Arata in Hackensack, New Jersey, the daughter of Mildred and Peter Arata, a police officer. She is the widow of Dom DeLuise, and the mother of actors Peter DeLuise, Michael DeLuise and David DeLuise. [More at Wikipedia]
