Douglas Carmichael "Mike" McIntyre II is the U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 7th congressional district, serving since 1997. He is a member of the Democratic Party and of the Blue Dog Coalition. The district is a large, mostly rural district in the southeastern part of the state, including Wilmington, Smithfield, Clinton and Kinston. Following the 2010 United States census, Lumberton, McIntyre's hometown, was mostly redistricted to North Carolina's 8th congressional district.
