Charles Joseph Baker better known as Chuck Baker, born December 6, 1952, in Seattle, Washington, is a former Major League Baseball player. Baker went to Loyola Marymount University where he earned a degree in engineering. He was drafted in the 1975 Major League Baseball Draft, in the second round with the 43rd overall pick. However, he was drafted three times before, never signing. He was previously drafted by the Minnesota Twins, in 1971, the Kansas City Royals, in 1973 and the Houston Astros, in 1974. In his three-year Major League career, he played for the San Diego Padres and the Minnesota Twins. In this span, he played at second base, shortstop, and third base. Baker played in 93 games, and accumulated 27 hits. His lifetime batting average is .185. Baker batted right and threw right. He was traded from San Diego to Minnesota for Dave Edwards after the 1980 season. [More at Wikipedia]
