Dustin Luis Pedroia is an American professional baseball second baseman with the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball. Since his debut season in 2006, Pedroia has received several awards for his MLB performances, including the American League Rookie of the Year and MVP awards, and is a four-time All-Star. Pedroia has spent his entire career with the Red Sox, and is under contract there until 2021.
An above-average contact hitter with a very low strikeout rate and "a surprising amount of power" for his size, Pedroia has a career batting average of .299, a 9.2 K% and .145 ISO. He has been awarded three Gold Gloves for his defensive performances, and his career UZR of +10 runs saved per 150 games is a "great? rating.
