Barry Hunter is a former Northern Ireland international footballer turned scout. Hunter made his name with Wrexham before transferring to Reading for �400,000. On ending his playing career at Portadown, he had a short spell as the caretaker-assistant manager at Swindon Town under Adrian Williams. Williams and Hunter were replaced by Paul Sturrock and Kevin Summerfield. Hunter is currently signed for The Grosvenor FC, playing alongside Tom Cubbage at the heart of defence. Cubbage subsequently scored on his debut for The Grosvenor in a 2-0 victory against New England. Both Hunter and Cubbage are thriving under the management of John Wylie and the strong captaincy of Chris Corke. He joined Blackburn Rovers as a senior scout in 2006. Responsible for team assessments and player recruitment. Hunter co-hosts a football show on Reading107fm two nights a week. He recently achieved Certificate in Applied Management from Warwick University. He was recruited by Norwich City Manager Glenn Roeder as the clubs chief scout in June 2008.
