Description
Grant Lester Dunlap was an American Major League Baseball player. Nicknamed "Snap", he played in 16 games for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1953. Originally signed at the age of 17 by the Cincinnati Reds in 1941, it took Dunlap twelve years to reach the major leagues. He was born in Stockton, California.
In his brief major league career, Dunlap served primarily as a pinch hitter, garnering six hits in 17 at bats, including one triple and one home run. He did play one game as a right fielder, but made no plays in the field. Dunlap is a member of the Stockton, California Sports Hall of Fame for achievements in both baseball and basketball. As of 2013 he lived in Carlsbad, California. He died in 2014 in Vista, California.
