Simone Manuel is an American swimmer who specializes in freestyle events. At the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Manuel earned a gold medal by swimming for the U.S. team in the preliminary heats of the 4�100-meter freestyle relay. Swimming the lead-off leg in the heats, Manuel recorded a time of 54.23. In her only individual event, the 50-meter freestyle, Manuel finished 7th in the final with a time of 24.80. Manuel's home USA Swimming club team is First Colony Swim Team out of Sugar Land, Texas. FCST has approximately 600 swimmers as of late 2013 and is part of the Gulf Swimming LSC.
