Description
Bob Benoit was a professional bowler in the Professional Bowlers Association in the 1980s and 1990s. Over the course of his career, Benoit won 4 PBA titles. He is mostly known for being the first bowler to ever roll a perfect game in a televised title match, as well as the fifth bowler to throw a televised perfect game overall. He accomplished this feat on January 23, 1988, in front of his home crowd in Grand Prairie, Texas at the Quaker State Open. The event was held at the Forum Bowl bowling center, a place where Benoit bowled league during the eleven years in which he lived in Dallas. This was Benoit's first ever title, as well as his first appearance in a telecast. Benoit's opponent for this game was Mark Roth, who finished with a score of 255.
Originally from Topeka, Kansas, and born in 1955, Bob has a brother named Rick who is still involved in the bowling business, working as a tour consultant for Brunswick.
