Description

Samuel Willenberg nom de guerre Igo is an Israeli sculptor and painter originally from Poland, former prisoner of Treblinka extermination camp, and the last surviving member of its perilous prisoner revolt; a participant of the Warsaw Uprising, and recipient of the highest of Poland's orders including Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit awarded by President Lech Kaczy?ski. He is the author of a memoir titled Revolt in Treblinka published in Hebrew, Polish and English between 1986 and 1991. He lives with his wife in Tel Aviv.
