Description
Teddy Wayne Gentry (born January 22, 1952) in Fort Payne, Alabama is best known for being in the band Alabama with his cousins Randy Owen and Jeff Cook, along with drummer Mark Herndon. Alabama, which was formed by Gentry, Cook, and Owen in 1969, was influenced by the music of such entertainers as the Eagles and Hank Williams, Jr. They started by playing in small club for small amounts of money, but they later were spotted by RCA and received a record deal from them. Gentry is a vocalist and plays bass guitar for the band. Gentry has produced albums for various artists, most notably Emerson Drive (Countrified) and Collin Raye (Selected Hits).
