Description
Ruby Friedman is a Los Angeles and New York based singer/songwriter/composer, and leader of the Ruby Friedman Orchestra. Her song, Shooting Star, was selected for promotional use on the television program America's Got Talent and has spread to Europe for continued use in that franchise. The song has also been licensed for use by Fox Sports. Her song, Drowned, was featured in the television show Sons of Anarchy. Her version of the song, You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive was featured in the closing scene of the season 5 finale of Justified.
In 2014, Ruby Friedman was commissioned to contribute two songs, including the title track, to a tribute album, Life, honoring the life and music of Tarka Cordell, along with such other notable contributing vocalists Lily Allen, Imani Coppola, and Evan Dando
She has been retained by the Harry Warren estate to re-imagine and record some of the extensive Harry Warren catalog.
Her unique multi-octave vocal stylings have her much in demand, and she has been selected for recording covers of End of the World, Needle in the Hay, Angel Eyes, Pale Blue Eyes, Crazy, and I Want You, She's so Heavy for various compilations.
