Carla Su�rez Navarro is a Spanish tennis player. She began playing for Spain in the 2008 Fed Cup. On September 16, 2013, she reached her career high ranking at World No. 14. Su�rez Navarro first came to prominence by reaching the quarter-finals of the 2008 French Open as a qualifier, in what was her first appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament and only her third appearance in the main draw of a WTA Tour tournament. She also reached the quarter-finals of the 2009 Australian Open, defeating Venus Williams en route, at the 2013 US Open, where she lost to eventual champion Serena Williams, and again at the 2014 French Open, where she lost in three sets to Eugenie Bouchard. [More at Wikipedia]
