Kimberly Kay "Kim" Richey is an American singer/songwriter. Though her work fits into the general country music category, her sound is not easily categorized. Her songs have been hits on both the country and pop charts. She has often been described as an Americana artist. Her 1995 self-titled debut album provided her first country hit, "Just My Luck", as well as the follow-up "Those Words We Said". Her follow-up album, 1996's Bitter Sweet featured a more pop-oriented sound. In 1997, "Let the Sun Fall Down" was featured in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, "Never Kill A Boy On The First Date". Although Richey did not appear in concert in the episode, her song played over the episode's emotional climax, in the penultimate scene. In 1999, "Come Around" was used in the movie "For Love of the Game" starring Kevin Costner, Kelly Preston and John C. Reilly. She has also had significant success as a songwriter for others.
