Description
Donald Eugene Thorin, ASC is an American cinematographer.
In 1957, he went to Hollywood, and started working as mailroom at 20th Century Fox. Later he moved to camera department as camera loader, and started his cinematographer career from the 2nd camera assistant on The Young Lions.
He worked with Taylor Hackford, Michael Ritchie, Martin Brest, and Steve Oedekerk.
Another he is well-known films such as Sylvester Stallone starred Lock Up and Tango & Cash, Whoopi Goldberg starred Boys on the Side, Bette Midler starred The First Wives Club, and Samuel L. Jackson starred Shaft.
He is the father of cinematographer and TV drama director Donald E. Thorin Jr., and camera department Jeffrey Thorin.
