Description
Thrity Umrigar is an Indian American journalist, critic, and a bestselling author of the novels Bombay Time, The Space Between Us, "First Darling of the Morning", "If Today Be Sweet", The Weight of Heaven, and "The World We Found". Apart from writing for newspapers like Washington Post, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Thrity has also composed several essays, and regularly writes for The Boston Globe 's book pages. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Case Western Reserve University. Her books have been translated into over fifteen languages including French, German, Arabic, Dutch and Indonesian. She is also active on the National lecture circuit. She was born and raised in Bombay, India and currently lives in Cleveland, Ohio. She practises Zoroastrianism and belongs to the Parsi community of India.
