Siem de Jong is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or striker for English club Newcastle United.
De Jong was born in Aigle, Switzerland, to Dutch parents and moved back to the Netherlands at age six. Prior to joining Newcastle he played in the youth academy of De Graafschap and Ajax. He made his professional debut for the Amsterdam-based side and would go on to become the club's captain as the team won a record four consecutive Eredivisie titles from 2010 to 2014. His younger brother Luuk plays for PSV Eindhoven.
