Description
Yoram Globus, is an Israeli film producer who is most famous for his association with Cannon Films Inc., a company he ran with his cousin Menahem Golan.
The cousins bought The Cannon Group production company in 1979 and managed it throughout the 1980s. Because of their fast, low-budget style of filmmaking, they earned the nickname "the Go-Go Boys". However, quite a few of the films produced by the Cannon Group have become quite renowned, including Runaway Train and Godfrey Reggio's second film of the "Qatsi" trilogy, Powaqqatsi. The Cannon Group's library of films is now part of MGM.
After the end of his Hollywood career, Globus returned to Israel and has since focused on Israeli film and television production. His company GG Studios owns a large film and television studio in Neve Ilan, Israel where various Israeli broadcast stations, such as the Israeli News Company, film.
