Meteorologist ' ' ' Paul Goodloe' ' ' joined The Weather Channel in 1999, After several years as On-Camera weathercaster at KSDK-TV in St. Louis, MO, KRIV-TV in Houston, TX, KSBY-TV in San Luis Obieso, CA, After majoring in geography at the University of Texas at Austin, Goodloe earned his master's degree in climatology from the University Of California at Berkeley.
Paul says," I can't believe i'm getting paid for something i enjoy so much!," That's how Paul Goodloe feels about being On-Camera Meteorologist at The Weather Channel, Goodloe says he has been studying the weather and the environment since he was a child.
Goodloe was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY, about 30 minutes north of New York City in Westchester County, Goodloe is a member of The American Meteorological Society, The National Weather Association and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
During graduate school, Paul taught classes in Meteorology, global environments and environmental science "Trying to hold the attention of college students while teaching was quite a challenge! The secret he found was to be more conversational, and that's why he try to do here at The Weather Channel," Paul says.
He consider his role to be that interpreter, he learned to break the science and jargon down into what is relevant to people's lives, It's not about a vorticity maximum - that means the weather is changing - and what the viewers need to know about this is, "Bring an umbrella. Some good advice once gave him was - "explain the weather as through you are talking to your mother."
Goodloe was chosen to be featured in the "50 Most Beautiful People" issue in "People" Magazine in May of 2001.
Goodloe enjoys skiing, snowboarding, golf, tennis, traveling and spending time with his wife and son.
