Description
Joseph Frank "Joe" Nemechek III is a American stock car racing driver, who competes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series. He won the 1992 Busch Series, now Nationwide Series, championship. He was born in Lakeland, Florida, the older brother of John Nemechek, and is nicknamed "Front Row Joe", a nickname given him by former teammate Wally Dallenbach for his tendency in the late 1990s to be a regular contender for a front row starting position. He is the father of John Hunter Nemechek.
Nemechek is one of the few owner-drivers competing in a NASCAR national tour, driving his own #87 car under the Identity Ventures Racing banner. He also competes in the #66 through a partnership with Michael Waltrip Racing and competed in the #29 RAB Racing and #77 Randy Humphrey Racing for a one-off.
