Richard Marvin "Rick" Hansen, CC, OBC is a Canadian Paralympian and a philanthropist for people with spinal cord injuries. Following a pick up truck accident at the age of 15, Hansen sustained a spinal cord injury that paralyzed his physical functions below his waist. Hansen is most famous for his Man in Motion World Tour. He was one of the final torchbearers in the 2010 Winter Olympics. He was profiled and spoke during the opening ceremony for the 2010 Winter Paralympics. [More at Wikipedia]
