Description
Mannava Sri Kanth Prasad is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a wicketkeeper.
Prasad earned attention after performing well for the Andhra Pradesh cricket team. Following its 1997?98 tour of Pakistan, Krishnamachari Srikkanth was amongst those who spoke highly of his capability. Even before the season had finished, Prasad had made his debut.
Following an injury to Nayan Mongia in the 1999 World Cup, Prasad was given his chance at the international level. He played in six Tests in 1999?2000 and several more one-day matches. Since this, however, he has not found himself playing on the Indian team after being dropped.
An agile wicketkeeper Prasad could not justify his potential with the bat. Ironically his best innings in ODI cricket came against South Africa in 4 nations cup final in Nairobi, Kenya where braving cramps Prasad scored a gritty 63 but India lost the match and Prasad was soon forgotten.
Prasad continued to excel in Domestic cricket even after National snub, when selectors picked Vijay Dahiya, Saba Karim, Nayan Mongia, Deep Das Gupta, Sameer Dighe, Ajay Ratra in a virtual merry go round from 2000-2003.
