Nina Pineda is a reporter for WABC-TV in New York City. Pineda can be seen faithfully on the evening editions of ??Eyewitness News??.
Pineda joined the ??Eyewitness News?? team in October 2000 as a general assignment reporter. Before coming to New York, she worked for WTAE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1996-2000. Her career as a broadcast journalist began as the AFTRA Reporter Trainee for WTTG the Fox affiliate in Washington DC.
Before becoming a journalist, Pineda was in Public Relations and worked for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington DC managing and planning parties and events. She also interned on Capitol Hill for the Governor of New York. In 1992-93, Pineda worked for the Presidential Inaugural Committee on President Bill Clinton's inauguration handling performing artists such as U2, Bob Dylan and REM for the concerts and inaugural balls.
She was one of the first reporters on the scene to cover the most tragic story in American History- The attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The Smithsonian Museum requested the suit and shoes Pineda wore during her reports that day to be part of the museum's permanent exhibit chronicling 9/11.
